Funny Commercial

I recently found this commercial and it is hilarious. It's a japanese commercial for SOCOM - a military video game for Playstation 2. My favorite part is the delivery guy caught in the crossfire. Also, the fact that it is completely in Japanese makes it even more funny to me.

Before watching the commercial, you should know that SOCOM allows players to compete online in two teams of eight each. You can speak to your teammates during the action by using a headset. So, the commercial tries to illustrate that.

[The file requires RealPlayer to view it., which your computer probably already has. If you're not sure if you have it, just try to download the video. If you don't have RealPlayer, go here and click on "Free RealPlayer," it should be in the upper right. It's quick and easy.]

Search Engine Fun

Check out how some random people have ended up on Scott's Blogtastic Blog:

Go to Yahoo.com and enter as search words:

- "blockbuster sue no late fees" - Currently #1 linking to Blockbuster's "No Late Fees" Program

- "does hilary swank have a brother" - No longer works, used to link to My Brother Kevin at #15

- "oscar picks votes 2005" - Currently #10 and #11 linking to Poll Results/Oscar Picks

- "quizno's versus subway subs" - Currently #11 linking to Subs

Poll Results/Oscar Picks

Best Picture - The Aviator
Best Actor - Tie between Johnny Depp and Jamie Foxx (although all nominees were close)
Best Actress - Tie between Hilary Swank and Kate Winslet (although all nominees were close)

When do you expect Moto to return a call - 16 votes by various people for "never" versus 15 votes from Moto for "within minutes."

Here are my picks:

Best Picture - Million Dollar Baby
Best Actor - Jamie Foxx
Best Actress - Annette Bening

Comment Box

I thought that creating a direct link to the message board would be enough to persuade you lazy-asses to go post on it. However, I must have over-estimated you. So, now I have eliminated that one burdensome click by putting a comment box on Scott's Blogtastic Blog (see right column). It doesn't get much easier than this, but it's nowhere near as cool or advanced as the message board. I hate you all.

Bored?

I frequently find myself bored out of my mind. This game reduced my boredom for a good 4-6 minutes. My best score was 312. Check it out:

Check out the new Message Board and Calendar

As requested, I have created a message board for people to post whatever they want on. There is a permanent link to it on the right, but here is a quick link for all you lazy-asses: Message Board. I have also added a calendar feature for anyone to use. You can suggest events to be added to keep track of whatever's going on (post your birthdays, please). Here is the link: Calendar. Enjoy.

BlizzardBall

Have nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon? Feel like driving in a blizzard to sit in a metal folding chair at a local middle school gym? Then you will enjoy reading about what I did yesterday. A few of my friends play on an adult intramural basketball team. So, at the request of soon-to-be-a-father Dave, I stopped by to check out the action.

Although the opposing team led almost the entire game, it was decently close until midway through the 3rd quarter. Dave and the team pulled to within 3 or 4 late in the 4th but ended up falling 59-54. Clearly, a win that would have been but for the lazy, angry, selfishness of absent teammate "No-show Stro."

Things I was pleased with:
- Moto losing the ball out of bounds after forcing a turnover and spiking it into the ground Corey Schlesinger style.
- Butler playing and making key blocks despite complaining of dizzyness and low blood-sugar - a true team player, unlike Maestro.
- Everybody's foul shooting
- Moto's hustle

Things I was not pleased with:
- Dave & Moto not shooting unless directly under the basket
- Butler fouling out
- "Technical Teddy" not fouling out (or even having an outburst of any kind)
- Dave not wearing his "silver bullet" shorts
