Valentine's Day vs Trivia Night


I need your help. I have a purely hypothetical question that I just randomly thought of. Say you spent the entire weekend immediately before Valentine's day with your girlfriend/boyfriend. Let's also say that you both agreed to "celebrate" Valentine's Day on Saturday night by making dinner together, exchanging gifts, and hanging out. Would you then feel compelled to spend the entire night hanging out with him or her on the actual Valentine's Day? What if it happened to fall on the same night as your favorite local event, Trivia Night? What if your girlfriend/boyfriend was known for falling asleep at around 10:00pm and trivia starts at 9:30pm? Please post your comments on this hypothetical situation.

I would tell the gf/bf that you have served your Valentine's sentence and that you want to be left alone.

Although I agree with "Tha Prophet," referring to spending time with her as a "sentence" would most certainly result in no chance for parole.

As for Kevin's post, although this is a hypothetical situation, we can assume two things about the significant other: 1) he or she is addicted to terrible reality tv shows like "The Bachlorette" which ends 30 minutes after Trivia Night starts; 2) he or she is God-awful at trivia (very similar to that "Meghan" chick who showed up last week for one round). However, the sample questions you posed may be easy enough for anybody to answer, especially #3 (unless your name is Liz Holdsworth). I'll tell you one thing about that firework, though, everybody in southeastern Michigan better pray Garth doesn't wake it from its slumber.

hi scott. i think that you should spend the early evening with your girlfriend and try to get her to come out with us. tonight is our night to win and we REALLY need you, so i am kind of biased. it sounds like you spent a nice weekend together so i don't think she would mind. jaimie
